It was my first visit to Geneva, and Novotel made my stay even better. The location is great. There are so many restaurants close by. We got the suite room so it was very spacious, and the air conditioning worked very well. However, housekeeping service can be improved. I have talked to the front desk staff and reservations manager regarding this and they improved it so little only. Enjoyed the breakfast selections. Dining, front desk, and reservation staff are very nice. I would go back again.

Worst case Hotel for my stays at Accor Group

the first time, that I feel absolutly not welcome in a Hotel from Accor. Until now I have more like 80 nights stay only at these Accor Group Hotels, but this here is not acceptable. I am a Diamond member. After booking I receive the confirmation and few times later a Email, that I can upgrade my room, I dont do it, because I should get this for free about my status. By arriving yesterday at the Hotel, at first they tell me that they fully booked, my reservation is canceled. After a while I show them my confirmation from Accor and then they found it but only small classic room. No Upgrade, really nothing. The room by himself was very small but clean, sleeping is ok. Windows are not able to opn In the room the frigde ( Reception: we dont have fridges its a Minibar) is not working, every thing inside is warm. Then a friendly housekeeper change this Minibar and tell me, this is really cool. Now in the morning this "Minibar" ( not a fridge) is warm. I try to get help at the reception, but this women knows all better, It was impossible to explain. She went everytime in my explanation. She was the same woman like yesterday by check-in. I took a breakfast, also here far away from a friendly welcome. I dont like this industrial scrambled egg, so I asked for fried egg. This unfriendly women told me, yes you can order for another 5 Franken. Sorry, are you serious? 29CHf for a breakfast and we should pay for a fried egg? This is service not extra. By the price for this small room an d the breakfast charge its a shame to charge this like a extra. Finally I dont feel welcome, I feel like a stupid guest.

Dear RalfDorn, First of all, I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding upon check in. At first our receptionist found your first booking which you had cancelled. After checking with me, we found your other reservation (you had paid partially with your ALL points). The room initially booked was a Standard room. Upgrades are always subject to availability for Elite member (Diamond). The e mail you have receive states subject to availability. At Novotel Geneve Centre we always upgrade our Elite members whenever it is possible. Mathieu from our front desk provided you free soft drinks in the mini bar as you would have received in one of our Executive rooms (2 rooms upper than the room type you had booked). Mini bars in the rooms are not refrigerators. You cannot keep your shopping inside our mini bars as they are not cooling enough for food. We offered to keep your food shopping in the refrigerator we have at the back office. As you are aware I visited you in your bedroom to help you to connect your different devices for which you apologized for, as previously you were not happy as you could not get connected to the internet. At no point did you notify me something was wrong with the mini bar, I even gave you 2 extra sparkling water on top of all other soft drinks as you did not like still waters. Concerning breakfast, our buffet breakfast is CHF 29 per day per person. Our Elite member get fried eggs or omelet for free. Please accept my sincere apology for the misunderstanding. I have spoken personally to our Food and beverage team to make sure, it will not happen again. For any room move, we ask our customers to pack their belongings if they want to go outside and visit Geneva. We always move their luggage to the new assigned room. As a commercial gesture I will credit 2000 points into your ALL account and they should appear with 7 days into your account. Clean and moderately stylish hotel in an excellent location, halfway between the train station and the waterfront. Comfortable and well equipped rooms, the Novotel is a great base for exploring this city. Decent selection of restaurants nearby, and a useful fitness center and good breakfast in the morning. It's moderately priced for Geneva hotel so a good value it is as well.

I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years and this one really doesn’t deserve the 4* it has been given. The staff on reception were extremely polite and welcoming they are extremely polite but it ended there. From a four star hotel I expected a lot more, we had one tiny bar of soap for two of us, the second night there wasn’t any. We had a meal and drinks in the bar and left early because there were uncontrollable children running around at 8.30pm and nothing was done about it. The same happened at breakfast and in the corridors.The hotel is situated around the corner from the Red Light district, it’s not mentioned on the website. Just wish I’d read the reviews before hand 😢😢😢

As you may have noticed the hotel is situated in a popular area of Geneva, if you want to enjoy a nice walk to the lake take a right from the hotel entrance. We do apologize for the inconvenience caused by the lack of amenities in your room and I will make sure housekeeping do not miss any. We are working at the moment on changing our amenities to forbid any single use plastic items in our rooms and it takes unfortunately a bit of time to replace everything. We spent 10 days in a family room at the end of June with our 2 children. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, and was kept clean and tidy throughout our stay. The breakfast was adequate and provided adequate variety that included most of the foods one would eat at breakfast. The location is central, about 5 minutes away from the cornavin train station and 5 minutes walk to the lake. The area is full of restaurants so one can quickly find a variety of cuisines within 2 minutes walk. The staff were courteous and eager to serve or help. I will certainly consider this hotel again for our next visit and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Geneva.
